Bella

"Just wanted to give you a quick update on Brenna (Bella). She is doing great. She and my daughter's rescue dog play all day long with each other. She is doing very well in obedience. The instructors are amazed at how much she knows and how quickly she picks things up. 

I can't thank Beth enough for what she taught Brenna while she fostered her. She did such a wonderful job with her. It truly was my lucky day when I stopped of at the vet's to pick something up and got to meet this dog.

The first picture is of Brenna and her extended family. The second is of Brenna and her housemate, Knightley. So far we are one big happy family.

Bella has now been renamed Brenna.  She has an adoption pending and her new family and brother dog pal in Park Ridge are so happy to have her as part of the pack!

Bella is a 6 month old shepherd mix, possibly with lab or border collie. She is currently 45 lbs and should mature to 55 to 60 lbs. She is such a sweet girl and very smart.

Bella knows sit and down, she waits patiently for her food and is ok with you talking her food or rawhides. She is learning to walk very well on a leash. She loves all people, children, and adores other dogs. She is even good with the cat in her foster home.

Bella plays so nicely in her foster home with her dog friends. We would love for Bella to go to a home with a fenced yard and another dog. She is also very mellow in the house and gathers all her toys around her in her bed. She loves to give little kisses and get her belly rubbed. She is great in the car, crate trained and sleeps all night in her crate. She is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Complimentary training sessions will be provided by Halfway Hounds.

A Halfway Hounds volunteer writes: "She's fabulous!  We went for a 2 mile run and she ran right next to me, no criss-crossing - did great - pulled a little to try to get a couple of squirrels but got her listening and back on track very quickly.  Then she was tired and rested on the lawn and had a nice belly rub.  Then she stretched out in the back seat of the car on the way back & you could see she was tired.  She will make a family a great dog and will be a great running buddy."
