Imagine being abandoned for misbehaving.

But, no one ever taught you right from wrong.

Every month, thousands of dogs end up in our shelters. The majority of them have little or no training.

Halfway Hounds mission is to give homeless dogs a new leash on life by offering them the obedience training, behavior modification and emotional rehabilitation they need to become adoptable pets.

Halfway Hounds assists potentially adoptable dogs who have been owner surrendered or can no longer stay at a shelter. Our program provides every dog with a foster home and a customized training program to prepare them for adoption. In addition, new pet owners receive a behavior assessment report on the dog, free or discounted obedience training and follow-up visits and calls from a trainer.

Halfway Hounds was voted one of the top 5 best animal shelters in Northern New Jersey by CBS.  Check out the article below

Halfway Hounds is a volunteered based non-profit organization and a recognized 501(c)3. We need donations, volunteers and foster homes.
